Hello Stampers! Where did the time go??? I am not a procrastinator but I sure do procrastinate over this blog. We had such a great time making valentines and trying out the Stampin’ Blends, the stamping tool (anticipating the Stamparatus). playing with the new DSP (Designer Series Paper) and learning to make Billie Bows with linen thread. It’s so inspiring to work with stampers who enjoy the craft and each other. I look forward to each class and all the new friends you bring. Thank you for your confidence in me to be able to provide cards that meet everyone’s desire. And, as always, if you have a particular theme or celebration you want to work on, or even a particular stamp set that is of interest, please be sure to let me know in advance so I can prepare a kit for you.
Sometimes stampers are unable to complete the 5 card minimum at the class. I have a box of card kits from which to choose so that you can reach the minimum and make the kits at home. If anyone wants to take home a kit or 2 the current introductory price for the card kits is $2.00. If you miss a class and or a kit that is no longer at the buffet, I will try to have those card kits available hopefully the next month.
CARDS FROM THE LAST CLASS
We also had an upgrade on the lavender sachets with the new Lots of Lavender Free kit from the sale-a-bration catalog. The scent of lavender permeated the room and the new design on the sachet bags was a perfect match. I may bring it again to the February class for a last minute valentine “gifty. I have a beautiful gold embossed lavender card for the next class – Amy shared it at our meeting. I am addicted to lavender so we will be making that one. Thanks Amy! I may post a sneak peek at the cards I am planning sometime next week so be sure to check the Facebook page.
Sale-a-Bration is the best time of year for Stampin’ Up. For every $50 you spend (before tax and shipping), choose a FREE product from this brochure. Plus, new this year: Earn even bigger rewards when you spend $100 (before tax and shipping).
JANUARY 9TH PRIZE WINNERS
Our new location and the extra time has given us a huge window in which to stamp. Some come at 3 and others come after work which spreads things out nicely. However, it is difficult to have a drawing when people are coming and going. So we decided to have the drawing at the end of the evening. Meera was there to help pull the winning tickets. Congratulations to our winners:
Lisa J., Rosie G. and Suzanne GM
Be sure to come to the next class on February 13th to claim your prize.
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE NEXT CLASS
The Heartfelt card was probably the most popular one last time. I may change it up a bit and bring it again in different colors, of course. It is a beautiful stamp that looks watercolored. Don’t you just love that crinkled seam binding? I will be bringing cards to make from the new Sale-A-Bration catalog. So many wonderful choices of free products for each $50 purchase you make. I can’t decide which ones I like best: the Celebrate you Thinlits, Amazing you stamp set, and those cute Party Pandas. Went to a team meeting with Amy last night. She had kits for us to make a unique barn door card. Then we played with Brusho – the new powdered crystal colors.
WHAT AM I WORKING ON???
I love the white on white look – so simple, yet elegant. I was playing with the Botanical builder framelits and love that leafy vine that makes a perfect cut across the page. I silver embossed the words across the page and used various embossing folders to tuck underneath. I also used the sweetheart embossing folder to adhere to the other side of the front of the card. It gave some stability to the embossed top. It has a plain simple heart in the center on white, of course. I am still playing with the silver strip along the vine on the front card. What I really wanted to do was cut out those leaves and fill in the open ones with silver….it needs more thought. The actual cards look better than the photographs.
I’m also making some felted soaps this weekend. I love working with wet wool and watching it knit itself together to form fabric….such fun.
If you haven’t already, be sure to reserve your spot for the next buffet on February 13th. I may have a last minute valentine kit for you to play with just in case.
Should be a fun week coming up with all the “weather” in the forecast. Stay warm, be safe and enjoy the beauty of each day. Thanks for stopping by….leave a comment and please like our Facebook page.
