Heading into WINTER WOODS!

Just a quick post on the card that we made at the September buffet with the Winter Woods Bundle.  There are so many possibilities with this set….it reminds me of Lovely as a Tree.   The last picture I posted was poor at best…this is a better one.  I’m not sure about the “twig tree”.   it actually looks better in real life than in the photograph.  I’m working on one with a snowy pine and maybe some of that new shimmer paint.  Please leave a note in the comment section if you are interested.

  1. Some of your emails end up in my spam, so I check every time and pull them out! Loved the tree card and look forward to a pine one.

  2. Hi there, Pal!

This newsletter has really found a place with me-and as I think “why”, first, maybe because Elmer installed quite a few parks here in our town and studied trees. There is a boulevard called Alvarado-Niles Road here and he planted many of the trees in the median strip along the way.

Also, I find trees to be grounding-always there, always standing should we notice or need them.

Funny thing, yesterday I received notice of some online art workshops, and found one I want to take,

called Book of Trees, taught by Roxanne Evans Stout.

When you have time, would you take a look at it and see how your products might tie in….?

On the card you show today, I love all the trees on it, esp. the red ones.

I think your ideas and the workshop could fit together..

The course involves making a hand-stitched book, collage with papers and fabric, carving and printing

stamps, stitching and attaching treasures from nature, using thread and wire and writing prompts.

I haven’t signed up yet, so I don’t have the supply list for you to check out.

    >Online Courses>”Book of Trees”…there is a video to watch.

*I’m used to collaging-my SoulCollage group has met with me monthly for 11 years now, but this gives me new avenues for exploration.

I’d sure love to hear what you think and what products you have that might lend themselves to the class.

I can send you the supply list once I sign up, if that helps.

    Love you, my friend!

    1. Hey Sandy! Thanks for reading my blog!!!

I knew you were doing collage but didn’t realize you continued that when you moved to where you are living now. I took a quick glance at the site – she is quite a creative woman. I like her handmade paper and eclectic collection of things. I’m not sure how e products wit Stampin’ up will work…although we have many artists who do most unusual projects with the supplies. I’d suggest you find out what supplies you will need and then go back and look at this blog again…there is a section under supplies that lists everything I used to create that card…if you click on each supply it will bring you to a better picture and information about each product. There you can get a good id3a of what you are working with.

I have a few questions……Do you have a Big Shot or some other type of die cutting machine? What experience do you have with stamping? What kind of cardstock do you use or do you make your own? What happened to the project for your grandchildren…is this part of that project? Keep me posted about the requirements and we can go from there.
