2019 on the buffet – Find out how to make a tassel

ECLIPSING INTO 2019…without and with centers.

There are  many choices for eclipsing…this time I layered a few extra cuts to make the numbers stand out on this busy background.  This card can be used for 2019 Graduations, weddings and other congratulatory events as well.  Tassels are easy to make  check out this video from Stampin’UP .  Although this Year of Cheer DSP is retired, the snowflake stamps make great backgrounds on glossy paper for winter cards. Any of the beautiful DSP selections also work.   Use your imagination and think ahead so you have a stack of cards to use for these special occasions.

WHATS ON THE BUFFET? What’s on sale? New Host code

Can you believe it’s Wednesday already!!!  Just popping in to give you a little glimpse of one of the cards on the buffet for Tuesday December 11th…are you registered to attend?  Better hurry…do it here.

SOUTHERN SERENADE is one of those stamp sets I will use over and over.  It can be used for any occasion and has that old fashioned washed out look.  Here is an idea we are going to be working on.  The sentiment is up to you.  I love the font in this set.  It lends itself to many occasions and stamps well on the front of the card, eliminating the need for a separate label.  Come give it a try at the next buffet…you will be happy to go home with a card ready to send to a friend or relative.so serene

The best and most beautiful things cannot be seen  or even touched.  They must be felt with the heart.

Happy Monday in December!!!   What a weekend! Meera was the reason we visited the historic Downsville Museum.  We tied it in with the  Dunn County Pottery Octagonal Schoolhouse with yet another bit of history from John Thomas!    We beat it home before the snow and I settled in the craft room to make a few gift cards.   Look at  this adorable kitty that was saved in my  “wanna make” file .  I fell in love with her in glimmer paper.  Don’ t you love her rhinestone collar? (I apologize for the “pink tone” pictures ..sometimes natural lightbulbs just don’t do it with the camera!!!)

gift card kitty

I also made a few cards with the cardstock in the December  Paper Pumpkin Kit which is so versatile- note the lovely branches which are die cut in the kit.  There are also some lovely pine branches in the Night Owl Thinlits (147920) if you missed the November Christmas PP.  The berries were cut from Frosted Bouquet Framelits (147895), retired Pretty Pines Thinlits and/or the  Sprig Punch, then colored with Stampin’ Blends – Cherry Cobbler Dark and Color me Clover Dark.

slot for gift card

This set of pictures shows the inside for the slot which is created on the base layer of the card.  I use the long thin die on the retired Balloon Pop-up Thinlits – it makes a perfect slot every time.  Then I adhere a piece of cardstock on the front side to create a stop for the gift card.   Please leave a comment or question if you want to know more
