Happy Monday in December!!! What a weekend! Meera was the reason we visited the historic Downsville Museum. We tied it in with the Dunn County Pottery Octagonal Schoolhouse with yet another bit of history from John Thomas! We beat it home before the snow and I settled in the craft room to make a few gift cards. Look at this adorable kitty that was saved in my “wanna make” file . I fell in love with her in glimmer paper. Don’ t you love her rhinestone collar? (I apologize for the “pink tone” pictures ..sometimes natural lightbulbs just don’t do it with the camera!!!)
I also made a few cards with the cardstock in the December Paper Pumpkin Kit which is so versatile- note the lovely branches which are die cut in the kit. There are also some lovely pine branches in the Night Owl Thinlits (147920) if you missed the November Christmas PP. The berries were cut from Frosted Bouquet Framelits (147895), retired Pretty Pines Thinlits and/or the Sprig Punch, then colored with Stampin’ Blends – Cherry Cobbler Dark and Color me Clover Dark.
This set of pictures shows the inside for the slot which is created on the base layer of the card. I use the long thin die on the retired Balloon Pop-up Thinlits – it makes a perfect slot every time. Then I adhere a piece of cardstock on the front side to create a stop for the gift card. Please leave a comment or question if you want to know more
Here’s is another project that was simply done with narrow note cards. A bit of DSP a simple tree, a little red bird and some twine! The little red birds are fussy cut from Botanical Thinlit Dies (146824 )
