As a follow-up to our May 14 current update, we want to provide some additional information regarding the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades situation.
Because of the unique circumstances around the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades created by the Trimmer line discontinuation, we have created a process exception requiring a significant amount of manual work in our systems. We have no plans to do this for any other products.
One of the challenges we faced was the timing of our notification system. Email notifications about products coming back into stock were only sent once per day. For an in-demand item like the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades, this notification could easily be sent after the item had been seen in the online store and sold out in a matter of hours. Our IT group has adjusted the notification system to send these emails hourly; moving forward, we anticipate this will help with notifications about other products.
As part of the workaround for this situation, and to minimize confusion, we have turned off the automated email notification for the blades. You and your customers will no longer be able to request an email when the blades are back in stock. We will notify you through a current update in advance, with the exact date and time Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades will become available for purchase again.
Because we want to honor customer requests for notification, we will send a one-time email to the email addresses submitted before this functionality was shut off, announcing the date and time of the next available product. This email will be sent to both customers and demonstrators on the list at the same time we post the current update for demonstrators with the same information. This will be the only time customers will be notified by Stampin’ Up! about the blades, due to the notification shut off. Moving forward, we ask that you share the date and time with your customers once we have shared it with you.
If you try to order the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades before the go live time, you will see an error that says, “You may not order 1 of item 126995 because of promotion restrictions.” This is tied to the system workaround to control the exact date and time of the product becoming available after receiving inventory in our distribution centers.
We recognize that this product line transition is less than ideal for you. We want to reiterate that we are committed to providing you with cutting blades until September 2019, and that we are committed to providing you with a better paper trimmer product. We appreciate your partnership and patience in this endeavor.
